Maica Lomat brings a genuine love for food and a strong sense of dedication to her role as Retail Operations Manager. With background spanning nutrition and culinary arts, she supports the day-to-day operations of 13 retail locations, including Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Booster Juice, Subway, Arts Café, Agro Café, House & Quarter, STM, and Concession. She’s passionate about creating consistent, high-quality experiences because she believes that good food should always come with good service.
Maica began her career as a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian in the Philippines, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of the Philippines, followed by Culinary Arts training at the American Hospitality Academy. With years of experience in nutrition and food retail, she has developed a well-rounded career grounded in hands-on operations.
After moving to Canada, she completed the Food and Nutrition Management program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic and earned her Nutrition Manager (NM) designation. Along the way, she worked her way up from Food Service Worker to Assistant Manager with the Saskatchewan Health Authority. She is also affiliated with the Saskatchewan Society of Nutrition Management (SSNM), where she served as Secretary and Membership Chair for two years, and is a member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM).
Raised by two strong older sisters, Maica developed her resilience and high standards early on. Today, her husband, Rene, serves as her steady support system, patiently keeping pace with and cheering on his very driven (and slightly competitive) wife.
Off the clock, she’s a travel-loving foodie, plant enthusiast, and proud homebody who also loves cooking, usually with a camera in hand and inspiration on her plate.
