Consumer Services at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) continually assesses its operations to offer the best customer service. To support the best customer experience, all Consumer Services locations on the Saskatoon campus will move to a cashless retail environment beginning May 1, 2023.

Beyond offering a more sustainable, efficient process, USask students, faculty, staff and visitors will benefit from a cashless environment including, faster transactions, the removal of potential health risks from frequent cash exchanges, and safety from the risks involved with storing and transporting cash across campus for deposit.

Cashless transactions on campus account for the vast majority of all transactions, however, we understand some customers don’t use debit or credit cards. For those individuals, cash cards may be purchased from the Marquis Culinary Centre office located on the second floor of Marquis Hall. In addition, select vending machines across campus will carry Cash Cards for purchase.

The change to cashless transactions will include the following USask Culinary service locations located on campus: Marquis Culinary Centre, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Booster Juice, the Arts Cafe, and the Agriculture Cafe. Additionally, all Shop USask Retail locations which are on campus (Shop USask Bookstore and Shop USask Health Sciences) will switch to a cashless system.

Shop USask Preston Crossing will continue to accept cash.

The following payment methods will be accepted at USask Consumer Services locations across campus:

  • Debit
  • Credit
  • Residence Cash Card (RCC) – USask Culinary locations only
  • Culinary Cash Card – USask Culinary locations only
  • Apple Pay
  • Android Pay
